The Forum Trust and Wild in Art present
Go Elephants!
23 June - 31 August 2008

Go Elephants! has turned the streets, parks and public spaces of Norwich into a giant urban savannah. A herd of life-size baby elephants are currently on safari in locations across the city until 31 August before being sold at a special gala auction in September 2008.

There are fifty-three different elephants to look out for. Each one has been beautifully decorated by an artist or community group, creating an outdoor art gallery showcasing the rich artistic talent the region has to offer.

Located in the city centre, sometimes in not-so-obvious places, this is an ideal opportunity to explore the city whilst taking part in the largest public art event Norwich has ever seen.

Go Elephants! has been reaching the classroom too. Almost twenty schools and hundreds of children have painted their very own mini elephants, supported by a special Education Pack. Their work is on display on Level 2 of The Mall for the entire ten weeks of the event.

Go Elephants! is presented by The Forum Trust which manages The Forum, Millennium Building for the East of England. At its heart is the ethos of partnership which, through a programme of lively arts and education events, seeks to engage the community of Norfolk and Norwich. The Trust is delighted to be working with Wild in Art and a number of local and national partners delivering one of the most exciting events in the eastern region for summer 2008.
